Sri Lanka Flood Relief 2025: Rebuild
From Emergency Relief to Rebuilding Lives
As we conclude the emergency relief phase of our response to the floods in Sri Lanka, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who stood with us during this critical time. Your generosity and compassion made an immediate impact, enabling us to transfer essential funds to the Government of Sri Lanka to support displaced families and help meet urgent needs on the ground. But recovery does not end with relief.
We are now entering the next chapter of our mission — the Rebuilding & Recovery of lives impacted by floods. This phase focuses on long-term healing: restoring livelihoods, rebuilding homes, strengthening infrastructure, and empowering communities to move forward with dignity and resilience. Fundraising will continue as we shift toward sustainable recovery. Every contribution made now goes directly toward a dedicated rebuilding project where help is urgently needed — not just to repair what was lost, but to create a stronger future. Together, we can turn relief into recovery, and loss into opportunity. Thank you for standing with Sri Lanka — not just in crisis, but in its journey toward renewal.
Your gift goes further: Gift Sri Lanka covers all administrative and transfer costs.
Fully tax-deductible: U.S. donors receive a receipt for 2025 taxes.
* Gift Sri Lanka Foundation transfers funds with NO fees deducted to maximize the relief efforts.

Post-Event Report: GBV Sri Lankan Food Fair 2025
The Georgia Buddhist Vihara (GBV) sincerely thanks everyone who joined us for the GBV Sri Lankan Food Fair 2025. The event was a wonderful success, bringing together families, friends, and community members for a memorable day of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine and meaningful fellowship.
This year's Food Fair was organized as a fundraising effort in support of the Dharma Shaalawa and Buddha Mandhiraya Project, a vision to create a peaceful and welcoming space dedicated to Dhamma education, meditation programs, children's Sunday school, cultural activities, and community outreach. Through the generosity of attendees and supporters, the event made an important contribution toward advancing this project and strengthening our spiritual community.
Guests enjoyed a variety of traditional Sri Lankan dishes prepared with care by dedicated community volunteers. The atmosphere reflected the true spirit of togetherness, with people sharing meals, connecting with one another, and supporting a cause rooted in compassion and service.
We are deeply grateful to:
- All who attended and placed orders
- The volunteers who prepared food and supported operations throughout the day
- Donors and supporters who contributed even if they could not attend in person
Your support helps preserve a living Buddhist tradition and nurtures a compassionate, mindful community for current and future generations.
With gratitude,
Georgia Buddhist Vihara Community
